If your flowers are arranged in florist’s foam, top up the water daily, taking care not to overfill.
If you have received cut flowers, trim the stems diagonally about 2cm from the base prior to placing in clean water. Take special care to remove all leaves that will be underwater, as they contain bacteria that may quickly proliferate and spoil the water.
Position your flowers away from draughts, direct heat and/or sunlight. Do not place them on heat generating appliances such as TVs and microwaves.
As some flowers will last longer than others, carefully remove spent blooms, especially if other flowers in your display are still alive.

Woolwich is a riverside peninsular suburb located 11 kilometres northwest of Sydney's central business district, on the Lower North Shore. Surrounded by water on three sides, Woolwich sits at the end of the long peninsula that separates the Lane Cove River from the Parramatta River. Hunters Hill is Woolwich's only land-based neighbouring suburb, found to the west.
The suburb is named after Woolwich, London, which sits on the banks of the River Thames. The Parramatta River had been coined the 'Thames of the Antipodes', and other nearby suburbs are named after the Thames localities of Greenwich, Henley and Putney. Woolwich is awash with heritage-listed buildings, 61 properties in the suburb are listed on the NSW State Heritage Register, including the Woolwich Wharf and the Woolwich Pier Hotel.
Kellys Bush Park and Clarke's Point Reserve consume much of Woolwich's southern portion. Both enjoy expansive local greenery and enviable views across Parramatta River, towards Sydney Harbour. The iconic Woolwich Pier Hotel is found on Woolwich Road, not far from Woolwich Baths, which are located on the suburb's northern Lane Cove River bank.
