If your flowers are arranged in florist’s foam, top up the water daily, taking care not to overfill.
If you have received cut flowers, trim the stems diagonally about 2cm from the base prior to placing in clean water. Take special care to remove all leaves that will be underwater, as they contain bacteria that may quickly proliferate and spoil the water.
Position your flowers away from draughts, direct heat and/or sunlight. Do not place them on heat generating appliances such as TVs and microwaves.
As some flowers will last longer than others, carefully remove spent blooms, especially if other flowers in your display are still alive.

Waverton is a harbourside suburb located four kilometres north of Sydney's central business district, on the Lower North Shore. The suburb is found between Wollstonecraft and McMahons Point. Waverton is a coveted residential area thanks to its proximity to North Sydney and its stunning harbour views. Balls Head Reserve offers almost uninterrupted views of the Sydney Harbour Bridge, and is particularly popular as a vantage point on New Year's Eve.
The heritage-listed Waverton railway station, originally known as Bay Road Station, opened in 1893, and is today serviced by the North Shore & Western Line, the Northern Line and the Central Coast & Newcastle Line. Waverton was established as its own suburb in 1929 and was named after Waverton Estate, one of the area's earliest European landholdings belonging to William Carr, who named his estate after an English village connected to his family.
Waverton Park and Carradah Park are found on the suburb's eastern harbour foreshore, overlooking Berrys Bay. Balls Head Reserve is based at the southern head of Waverton's harbour peninsula and enjoys sweeping views across Sydney Harbour towards the Harbour Bridge and Sydney CBD. HMAS Waterhen, a naval base, is located on the suburb's western harbourside on Balls Head Bay.
