If your flowers are arranged in florist’s foam, top up the water daily, taking care not to overfill.
If you have received cut flowers, trim the stems diagonally about 2cm from the base prior to placing in clean water. Take special care to remove all leaves that will be underwater, as they contain bacteria that may quickly proliferate and spoil the water.
Position your flowers away from draughts, direct heat and/or sunlight. Do not place them on heat generating appliances such as TVs and microwaves.
As some flowers will last longer than others, carefully remove spent blooms, especially if other flowers in your display are still alive.

Riverview is a primarily residential suburb located nine kilometres northwest of Sydney's central business district, on the Lower North Shore. Situated on the northern side of the Lane Cove River, at the head of Tambourine Bay, the suburb's largest foreshore occupant is Saint Ignatius' College Riverview. The suburb is south adjacent to Lane Cove and west adjacent to Longueville.
The suburb takes its name from its location, which enjoys picturesque views of the Lane Cove River across towards Hunters Hill, which lies on the river's southern bank. The Jesuit private school, St Ignatius' College, was built in the suburb in 1880. The school's original flagship sandstone building still stands today, and is an impressive and grand example of Victorian Classical style architecture. The college made extensions to its campus in 1887, 1906 and during the 1920s. The school is listed on the Register of the National Estate and today occupies approximately a quarter of Riverview.
Aside from St Ignatius' College's sprawling campus, Riverview is largely a residential area. Burns Bay Reserve, in the suburb's west, fronts the Lane Cove River, and Tambourine Bay Park, in the suburb's east, sits on Tambourine Bay, nearby to neighbouring Longueville. A wide variety of shops and amenities are found in neighbouring Lane Cove.
