If your flowers are arranged in florist’s foam, top up the water daily, taking care not to overfill.
If you have received cut flowers, trim the stems diagonally about 2cm from the base prior to placing in clean water. Take special care to remove all leaves that will be underwater, as they contain bacteria that may quickly proliferate and spoil the water.
Position your flowers away from draughts, direct heat and/or sunlight. Do not place them on heat generating appliances such as TVs and microwaves.
As some flowers will last longer than others, carefully remove spent blooms, especially if other flowers in your display are still alive.

North Sydney is a commercial suburb and major business district located three kilometres north of Sydney's central business district, on the Lower North Shore. The area is directly connected to Sydney CBD by the Harbour Bridge, and is the second largest business district in New South Wales, with a particularly notable concentration of advertising, marketing and IT organisations within its folds.
In 1890, the North Sydney municipality was incorporated, with the suburb that exists today formally named North Sydney. The St Leonards Post Office and St Leonards Public School in the district, opened in 1854 and 1874 respectively, were renamed North Sydney Post Office in 1890, and North Sydney Public School in 1910. The Sydney Harbour Bridge opened in 1932, providing for the first time, direct road, rail, and pedestrian access to Sydney CBD. North Sydney was rapidly redeveloped into a commercial hub in the early 1970s, with over 25 skyscrapers being built in a one-year period, lending the district its towering city skyline that continues to define it aesthetically today.
North Sydney's towering commercial district is concentrated in the suburb's largest portion, west of the Warringah Freeway (which flows from the Harbour Bridge's northern entry and exit point). The expansive St Leonards Park is found in the suburb's northeast, adjacent to Cammeray. North Sydney also extends southeast into Sydney Harbour - this portion of the suburb contains residential streets, parkland, HMAS Platypus and North Sydney's ferry wharf.
