If your flowers are arranged in florist’s foam, top up the water daily, taking care not to overfill.
If you have received cut flowers, trim the stems diagonally about 2cm from the base prior to placing in clean water. Take special care to remove all leaves that will be underwater, as they contain bacteria that may quickly proliferate and spoil the water.
Position your flowers away from draughts, direct heat and/or sunlight. Do not place them on heat generating appliances such as TVs and microwaves.
As some flowers will last longer than others, carefully remove spent blooms, especially if other flowers in your display are still alive.

Naremburn is a residential suburb located six kilometres north of Sydney's central business district, on the Lower North Shore. The suburb is found between Willoughby to the north, and Crows Nest to the south, with the Gore Hill Freeway running diagonally through central Naremburn. Flat Rock Gully lies partially in the suburb's east.
The origin of Naremburn's name is oddly unknown. Following European settlement, the earliest land grants in the area were made in 1794. Legend has it that Henry Lawson, the famous Australian bush poet and writer, often slept off his frequent visits to local pubs in a small cave in Flat Rock Gully, in Naremburn's east. Naremburn Post Office opened in 1882 and closed in 1996.
Naremburn features a small commercial shopping strip on Willoughby Road, with more comprehensive amenities found in neighbouring Crows Nest, to the south. The suburb's largest green spaces are: Naremburn Park, in the west adjacent to the St Leonards business district; and Flat Rock Gully, in the east, which features lush bushland, walking tracks and Flat Rock Creek.
