If your flowers are arranged in florist’s foam, top up the water daily, taking care not to overfill.
If you have received cut flowers, trim the stems diagonally about 2cm from the base prior to placing in clean water. Take special care to remove all leaves that will be underwater, as they contain bacteria that may quickly proliferate and spoil the water.
Position your flowers away from draughts, direct heat and/or sunlight. Do not place them on heat generating appliances such as TVs and microwaves.
As some flowers will last longer than others, carefully remove spent blooms, especially if other flowers in your display are still alive.

Mosman is a large harbourside suburb located eight kilometres northeast of Sydney`s central business district, on the Lower North Shore. The suburb forms a large peninsula between Sydney Harbour and Middle Harbour and is connected to the Northern Beaches by the Spit Bridge. Mosman is largely residential, but also features a thriving commercial district based around Military Road, as well as an array of harbour beaches and national parkland. The suburb is also home to Sydney`s much loved Taronga Zoo.
The suburb is named after Archibald and George Mosman, twin brothers who settled in the area in 1831 and founded a whaling station on a bay in the harbour. From the 1870s, the area gradually developed into a residential one, and was proclaimed a municipality in 1893. Taronga Zoo opened in 1916, moving to Mosman from its original site in Moore Park. Up until the opening of the Sydney Harbour Bridge in 1932, direct travel to Sydney CBD and the Eastern Suburbs was primarily via ferry services. In 1997, Mosman Council assigned Mosman as the only official suburb within the Mosman Local Government Area, but allowed residents of the following localities to continue to use their area`s traditional name: Balmoral; Beauty Point; Clifton Gardens; Georges Heights; Spit Junction; and The Spit.
Taronga Zoo is found on Bradleys Head Road and enjoys magnificent views across Sydney Harbour towards the Eastern Suburbs, Sydney CBD and the Harbour Bridge. The zoo is home to over 4,000 animals. Mosman features a wide array of harbour beaches, the most popular of which include: Clifton Gardens; Balmoral Beach; Edwards Beach; the clothing optional Obelisk Beach; and Chinamans Beach.
