If your flowers are arranged in florist’s foam, top up the water daily, taking care not to overfill.
If you have received cut flowers, trim the stems diagonally about 2cm from the base prior to placing in clean water. Take special care to remove all leaves that will be underwater, as they contain bacteria that may quickly proliferate and spoil the water.
Position your flowers away from draughts, direct heat and/or sunlight. Do not place them on heat generating appliances such as TVs and microwaves.
As some flowers will last longer than others, carefully remove spent blooms, especially if other flowers in your display are still alive.

Linley Point is a small peninsular suburb located 10 kilometres northwest of Sydney's central business district, on the Lower North Shore. The suburb is primarily a residential area and is almost entirely surrounded by the Lane Cove River, with a small sliver of land connecting it to Lane Cove in the north and the Fig Tree Bridge connecting it to Hunters Hill in the south.
Linley Point is one of Sydney's smallest suburbs with just over 130 dwellings contained within it. The suburb is home to an array of historic houses including Linley House on Burns Bay Road, which was added to the New South Wales State Heritage Register in 1999, and Rockcliffe on Lower Brooks Street. The original Fig Tree Bridge, which connects Linley Point to Hunters Hill, was opened in 1885, and formed part of the first project to provide a fixed crossing of Sydney Harbour (almost five decades before the completion of the Sydney Harbour Bridge). The original bridge was replaced by its present-day successor in 1963.
Linley Point features a pleasant riverside park - Cunninghams Reach - on its western side. The suburb's elevated topography allows almost all of its homes to enjoy views of the Lane Cove River. There is only one access road in and out of Linley Point, being Burns Bay Road, which continues on to Hunters Hill in the south, and Lane Cove in the north. All of the suburb's residential streets are accessed via the View Street turn off.
