If your flowers are arranged in florist’s foam, top up the water daily, taking care not to overfill.
If you have received cut flowers, trim the stems diagonally about 2cm from the base prior to placing in clean water. Take special care to remove all leaves that will be underwater, as they contain bacteria that may quickly proliferate and spoil the water.
Position your flowers away from draughts, direct heat and/or sunlight. Do not place them on heat generating appliances such as TVs and microwaves.
As some flowers will last longer than others, carefully remove spent blooms, especially if other flowers in your display are still alive.

Lane Cove is a large residential, commercial and recreational district located nine kilometres northwest of Sydney`s central business district, on the Lower North Shore. The Lane Cove area is found south of Chatswood, and north of Sydney Harbour, with the Lane Cove River acting as its western boundary. Lane Cove North and Lane Cove West are now separate suburbs to Lane Cove in their own right, but share the same 2066 postcode.
Lane Cove is thought to have been named after Lieutenant Michael Lane, a well-known cartographer and colleague of Captain Cook. The suburb`s name has been in use since 1788, when European settlers first explored the Lane Cove River. Following European settlement, the area was largely uninhabited until the 20th century. The suburb grew rapidly as a residential district following WWII. And its proximity to central Sydney and Sydney Harbour has seen a boom in higher density apartment blocks in recent decades. Lane Cove West and Lane Cove North - originally areas within the suburb of Lane Cove - split off to become their own suburbs in 2002 and 2006 respectively.
Lane Cove is home to a thriving shopping and dining district found on Burns Bay Road and Longueville Road, with a pedestrian plaza connecting the two high streets. Lane Cove Aquatic Leisure Centre is located adjacent on Little Street. The bushland surrounding the Lane Cove River is home to a number of popular walking tracks, which are concentrated in Lane Cove West.
