If your flowers are arranged in florist’s foam, top up the water daily, taking care not to overfill.
If you have received cut flowers, trim the stems diagonally about 2cm from the base prior to placing in clean water. Take special care to remove all leaves that will be underwater, as they contain bacteria that may quickly proliferate and spoil the water.
Position your flowers away from draughts, direct heat and/or sunlight. Do not place them on heat generating appliances such as TVs and microwaves.
As some flowers will last longer than others, carefully remove spent blooms, especially if other flowers in your display are still alive.

Greenwich is a harbourside suburb located seven kilometres northwest of Sydney's central business district. The suburb lies adjacent to St Leonards' commercial district and is nearby to North Sydney. The southern half of Greenwich is a peninsula that juts out into Sydney Harbour and the entrance to the Lane Cove River, and while Greenwich is largely a residential suburb, some light industrial facilities are found on its eastern foreshore.
The Cammeraygal clan of the Kuringgai People were the first inhabitants of the area that constitutes Greenwich today. Following European settlement, the suburb was named after Greenwich in London, which sits on the River Thames. From 1794 to 1830, the suburb developed into a shipping and residential area, with Greenwich House - a sandstone Georgian home - built in 1836. While largely a residential suburb today, an industrial fuel storage facility still exists in Greenwich, sitting opposite Berry Island Reserve in Wollstonecraft.
Greenwich House still stands today on George Street, in Greenwich's southern peninsula. Nearby are the popular Greenwich Baths, a netted harbour swimming beach. Greenwich's green spaces are concentrated in its southern harbourside portion too, with Manns Point Park enjoying commanding views across Sydney Harbour. The suburb features a small shopping strip on Greenwich Road, with more comprehensive amenities found in neighbouring Lane Cove and St Leonards.
