If your flowers are arranged in florist’s foam, top up the water daily, taking care not to overfill.
If you have received cut flowers, trim the stems diagonally about 2cm from the base prior to placing in clean water. Take special care to remove all leaves that will be underwater, as they contain bacteria that may quickly proliferate and spoil the water.
Position your flowers away from draughts, direct heat and/or sunlight. Do not place them on heat generating appliances such as TVs and microwaves.
As some flowers will last longer than others, carefully remove spent blooms, especially if other flowers in your display are still alive.

Castle Cove is a residential suburb found on a peninsula in Middle Harbour, located 11 kilometres north of Sydney's central business district, on the Lower North Shore. The suburb enjoys an extensive harbour shoreline that is entirely framed by waterside bush land, and is also home to Castle Cove Golf and Country Club.
The Cammeraygal people of the Guringai nation were the primary occupants of the area that constitutes Castle Cove today, up until the 1820s. Following European settlement, the suburb was named after the estate of Henry Hastings Willis - Innisfallen Castle - a grand, castle-like house built in the area in 1903. The decadent castle and grounds still stand today as a heritage-listed mansion, and are found in the suburb's southern portion, overlooking Fig Tree Cove.
Innisfallen Castle remains privately owned but may be viewed from the street at 14 Cherry Place. North Arm Walking Track is a popular harbourside bushwalking trail and is located adjacent to the suburb's southern waterfront. Castle Cove Golf and Country Club is accessed at 68 Deepwater Road, and a small selection of stores and restaurants are found nearby at the intersection of Deepwater Road and Holly Street. More comprehensive amenities are found in neighbouring Chatswood.
