If your flowers are arranged in florist’s foam, top up the water daily, taking care not to overfill.
If you have received cut flowers, trim the stems diagonally about 2cm from the base prior to placing in clean water. Take special care to remove all leaves that will be underwater, as they contain bacteria that may quickly proliferate and spoil the water.
Position your flowers away from draughts, direct heat and/or sunlight. Do not place them on heat generating appliances such as TVs and microwaves.
As some flowers will last longer than others, carefully remove spent blooms, especially if other flowers in your display are still alive.

Balmoral is a harbourside urban locality in the suburb of Mosman, located eight kilometres northeast of Sydney's central business district, on the Lower North Shore. Primarily a residential and recreational locality, Balmoral is coveted for its spectacular water views and tranquil harbour beaches. The locality is also home to the military base HMAS Penguin.
The area is named after Balmoral Castle, in Aberdeenshire, Scotland - best known as the private summer residence of Queen Elizabeth II. The Balmoral tramline opened in 1922 and the subsequent influx of visitors to the locality resulted in an attractive promenade being constructed along the esplanade, which was completed in 1926. The Balmoral Beautification Scheme of 1927 saw the construction of some of the esplanades' most iconic features, including the Bathers' Pavilion and the Rotunda, which still stand today. The HMAS Penguin Navy base opened during WWII in 1942.
Edwards Beach and Balmoral Beach are the locality's largest harbour beaches: the former featuring the iconic Bathers' Pavilion; and the latter home to the Boathouse Balmoral Beach, as well as the netted Balmoral Baths. Both beaches are popular with families thanks to their relatively calm waters when compared to the rougher surf found at Sydney's ocean beaches. The area's Middle Head Peninsula is a popular spot for bushwalking, and is largely made up of national parkland and HMAS Penguin. Cobblers Beach and Obelisk Beach are found on the northern and southern side of the peninsula respectively and are two of Sydney's four clothing-optional beaches.
